By day, I am a metallurgical engineer for 3M Corporation, but after dinner I ascend the stairs to my laboratory and start reading technical papers such as, The Oxygenated Sesquiterpenoid Fraction of Hops in Relation to the Spicy Hop Character of Beer, and Bitterness-Modifying Properties of Hop Polyphenols Extracted From Spent Hop Material. The purpose of this is to learn all I can about the brewing processes and write about it in my spare time.
